I have personally witnessed what wonderful things happen when people and animals come together for a common cause. Live … Learn … Survive created Paws and a Cause to give people and their “four – legged furry friends” a reason to come together to support blood cancers! Ryan and I had two amazing inspirations for Paws and a Cause… my mom, Rhonda, and our Chihuahua Zipp. This event was created to encourage families to exercise for better physical and emotional health while supporting those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
The 1st Annual Paws and a Cause was held on May 1st, 2010 at Gutheridge Park in Hiawatha, Iowa. This year, we had the opportunity to partner with Iowa Human Alliance (IHA). Collectively, we were able to raise over $600 for IHA and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)!
We can't wait to make Paws and a Cause a yearly event! Even better ... Paws and a Cause at a city near you! Watch for details for how you can partake in this special event in 2011 that include a pet walk, pet blessings, family games, and door prizes galore! |
